·         Check wiring and earthing: First make sure earthing and wiring of your antenna to your communication device is ok. Earthing is important because it’s not only built for dealing with events such as lightning strikes but also effective for reducing static noises. By ensuring perfect earthing and wiring you can ensure maximum communication without much noise.

·         Check connectors:  It happens in sea, UV & salt air slowly break down layers of connectors and penetrate that create trouble. For minimizing these you need to re sealing connections. Also it’s important to see whether it’s damaged by birds or other wild life. The most effective solution is to use stainless steel net to prevent those wild lives to damage connectors. Bird –proof stainless still nets are flexible and will stay long time by ensuring protection of your connectors.

·         VSWR testing: if you have access to your VSWR meter, it’s important to check it frequently for measuring antenna performance. Over the time, performance of antenna goes down like other electric devices. They lose range of covering so it’s a good idea to do antenna maintenance through VSWR in 6-12 months to make decisions of replacing antennas on perfect time.

·         Old antenna complete removal: Remove old antennas, feeders or steelworks for avoiding interference on communication hubs. By removing old stuffs you will get extra space that will help to get more coverage without any major interference.
