We all love to
take foods of different categories to suit our tastes. And it is too delicious to
have the grilled steaks. Steaks add a special flavour in our menu. Unfortunately,
most of the people do not have the exact idea of preparing steaks at home. My
article on steak preparation will guide you on the course of grilling steaks at
your home.
People not only
visit restaurants to get the delicious foods, but it is less time consuming
than preparing foods at home. But having foods at restaurants is not always
healthy for your wallet. You can make some good looking foods like a grilled
steak at home without investing much effort and time.
Standard Meat: Only a
quality meat can make the grill the finest one of your life. Or if you want to
impress your family, please choose a quality meat. Majority of the meat traders
do not provide or maintain the standard despite the smart bills against the
meat. So get the meat from a reputed supplier and be careful about the meat
slice and size. A grilling steak needs a better cut and size combined with sufficient
fat to bring the taste. Restaurant quality or premium meats are best suited for
the purpose.
Soften the Meat: Soft
steaks are always enjoyable, and it is too difficult to ingest the mushy steak
slices. You have to tender the steak slices before you grill them. Use
table-spoon, tenderising hammer or thump gently to tender the meat.
Seasoning: Seasoning
brings a different taste for the steaks. So, before you put the steak on the
grill, make a quick season. Use salt, cracked pepper, garlic, a little red wine
or olive oil to season the steak meat. Execute the seasoning session at least
15/20 minutes earlier of grilling to get the ingredients mingled with the meat.
But extensive use of the ingredients will make the steak tart.
Steak Searing: To cook a
better grill you have to arrange a fire that can sear the steak properly. Certainly
there are no arrangements in your house to create a high temperature for
grilling like the restaurants, but make sure the fire is hot enough to burn the
meat well. Set the fire and put the meats on the grilling rods. Be careful you
do not ruin your grill with the high temperature.
Avoid Gas Grilling: Gas
grilling has some demerits, such as the gas smell added with the steak makes a
strange flavour. It is better to use natural charcoal for steak grilling. Try
to carry the whole grilling process on outside of home (may be on your backyard
or in an open space). Warm up the grills with a pre-heat before placing meat on
it. Try to use large amount of charcoals to make a direct heat. Usually the
direct heat from the charcoals is very high and will add a good colour and
flavour to your grilled steak.
Don’t Flip the Steak Frequently: Sometimes, we flip the steaks frequently to check if they are
ready to eat. But this is a very bad idea to flip the steaks frequently. Sliding
the steak cannot make it yummy. If you truly want to enjoy the real taste of a
grilled steak, never flip the pieces again and again, because the flipping
makes a mess. Let the meat stay on the grill for at least around 25-30 minutes.
Flip the steaks only once or twice amid the high temperature during the cooking
and do not place the steaks on the same place after turning.
Moreover, due to
high temperature, all the juices gather on the centre of the steak. Therefore, let
the juices lock on the steak surface. Nothing can be worse than cutting or
touching the steak only after the cooking to ensure if the steak is ready.
