Travelling provides the most exiting experience than any other hobbies for its adventurous nature. It is a part of education and experience as well. We can gather greater skills from travelling than reading books. Books provide only knowledge over the things how they are, but travelling presents a different sensation and thrilling by the exact forms of those objects in reality. The aspiration to know new places, meet newer people, learn different customs and histories, observe natural beauties and feel surprises has always made us passionate for it.


 Travelling truly changes our mind, and satisfies the desire to see the unseen. Throughout the journey, the traveller learns many amusing facts and issues. Every day people travel places for various purposes. But mostly people travel to spend their leisure hours. Whatever the purpose is, sometimes they face problems during their departure and returning in their native country. In this article, I have gathered some easy tips to follow for the travellers willing to travel abroad. It will help them to have a safe journey on the both way of their trip.

1.       Location & Time: Before commencing the journey, decide the exact destination where you want to head. The place may vary upon your interest.  Spend some time over studying the geographical location, internal laws, customs, and languages for your safety and security during your voyage. If you are fond of natural beauties, you must go for the beautiful beaches or islands filled with coconuts. Don’t forget about the seasons and travelling time of the year. Season here doesn’t refer to climatic conditions, rather the peak and off peak periods of the destined place. Peak seasons must be avoided due to over crowds at the place. Crowds may upset you in many ways while enjoying the beauties of the place.

2.       Plan for Return Drive: It is wise to have an appropriate plan for the journey. You need to make two schedules- one for the departure from your home, and the other for returning. You may set off without any hassles but it may cause troubles during your come back at home. So, spend some times making plans for your safe homecoming. It will help you to explore the places in a relaxed mood.

3.       Update Legal Documents:  Check back your legal documents. Check the passport if it is validated for your tour to abroad. Some countries prefer tourist visas to welcome the tourists for a period—less than three months. Apply in advance if you need such visas. You can keep a photocopy set of passport, visa, driving license etc. separately, and can use them in case of losing the originals.

4.       Currency Exchange: Travelling is one of the most expensive activities. You need to exchange your currencies following the place. Or you might fall in several problems like paying restaurant bills, shopping etc. It is better not to carry hard cash with you due to security reasons.

5.       Medical Insurance: In order to avoid mishaps during your abroad trip, you may have insurance such as health and travel insurance. It will help you to get necessary medical aid at some points in the journey. It will also help to compensate any loss of health during the travel.

6.       Mind the Kids: Children are one of the most vulnerable sections of the society. Their stamina is not as much as the matured people. Thus they may fall in danger without any prior notice. They need proper attention during a trip in abroad. Take proper care of them. If possible, keep in touch always with them. Don’t allow them go alone for sea baths, or wandering around the streets.

7.       IDN: The International Driving Permit (IDN) is specially issued for the tourists. It is The UN approved international licence for the greater benefit of the travellers around the world. Look for an IDN before your trip. Better to use the public transportation modes for a safe journey inside the travelling place.

8.       Trip Calendar: Must make a calendar over the trip and leave some copies to your family or friends. It will help to look for you in cases of sudden emergencies. On the contrary, you may make contact with them in cases if you fall in any risk.

9.       Safety Measures: Travelling is very amusing. But safety matters most in an unknown place. Your outfits, valuables or baggage may turn you the target of the miscreants. Put on simple attires following the tradition of the place. Light dresses and fewer luggages can make you move quickly. It is important not to carry a huge amount of hard cash with you. Use traveller’s cheque or credit cards instead. Better avoid foods, beverage etc. from strangers. Apply your common sense to get rid from the risks (if you fall in unfortunately).

10.   Transportation: Transportation is one of the most important factors during a trip. Better to use tourist maps to be familiar with the roads and alleys of the area. Avoid using unidentified or unmarked taxis. Ride on bus or train for a long distance journey. Try adjacent rental services for luxurious or sports cars and drive safely.
